2015 Edition of Chinaplas Proves to be a Roaring Success

Between 20th and 23rd May 2015, the British Plastics Federation (BPF) organised the British Pavilion at Chinaplas 2015. Over four days, the show attracted 128,264 visitors and generated an abundance of fantastic business opportunities.

Taking place in Guangzhou, the 29th edition of the show once again broke records. This year’s show saw more exhibitors promote their companies than ever before and, for the first time, more exhibitors were in attendance than the world-renowned ‘K’ fair in Germany. This was no surprise as the show covered a net area of 240,000 sqm, which was an increase of 10,000 sqm from the previous show in Shanghai.

The British Pavilion was comprised of 13 UK companies, most of who attended with the financial support offered by UK Trade & Investment grants and exhibited alongside 3,269 of their industry peers. Other National Pavilions that featured at the show originated from 14 other countries, including; Austria, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Switzerland, Taiwan, USA and Turkey.

Jason Young of Jayplas, who exhibited as part of the British Pavillion, said; “This show has been excellent for us. It has highlighted some niche products that we can make and start to export to China and India. As a direct result we will be buying some new machinery. This show has given us some direct sales and will now lead to us making some serious investment, which I would estimate will create at least 6 new jobs.”

Demand for the next edition of the show, which is set to take place in Shanghai between 25th – 28th May 2016, is expected to be very high. For all companies interested in exhibiting, we would strongly advise you to get in touch with BPF’s Justyna Elliot ([email protected] / 0207 457 5001) as soon as possible to avoid missing out!
