Adrian Bailey MP Visits Teknor Apex UK

On Friday 6th March 2015, Adrian Bailey MP visited Teknor Apex UK Ltd in Oldbury as part of the BPF’s Political Contact Programme, which seeks to illustrate the great extent of our economy’s, and indeed society’s, reliance on the UK Plastics Industry and its world-beating potential.
The visit involved a company presentation about Teknor Apex and the global Teknor Apex group, an overview of the plastics market followed by a tour of the facilities. Mark Clayton, Teknor Apex' UK Director, also highlighted and discussed a number of key topics including the need for better signposting from education into plastics manufacturing disciplines, the local situation concerning skills, future skill requirements and training provision, the need for the UK to have a much more concrete energy policy to safeguard energy supply in the future and highlighting the importance of the construction sector to the UK plastics market as a whole.
