BPF Attends InterPlastica

The British Plastics Federation (BPF) last week attended the InterPlastica Trade Show in Moscow, Russia. The exhibition is in its 15th year, ran from 24 – 27 January 2012 and attracted over 20,000 visitors at the 2011 edition of the show.

The show attracts visitors from over 50 countries, with over 95% visitors from the CIS Countries (including Russia), where the major thrust of the exhibition focuses on machinery / equipment and raw material producers.

The InterPlastica show is regarded as the leading platform for plastic and rubber technology in the Russian Federation. Indeed, an increasing number of businesses are willing to invest in Russia, where studies show that fixed-asset formation is set to rise by 10 % in 2011.

The Russian Government also recognizes the importance of the chemicals and plastics industries, with increasing amounts of central investment corresponding with a rise in production in the chemical industry (ca.17 % during the first three quarters of 2010).
