BPF Attends Successful PlastPol 2011
Tuesday, 14 June 2011
The British Plastics Federation recently attended the largest plastics event in Eastern Europe called Plastpol, held between 24th and 27th May in Kielce, Poland.
This is the 7th time the BPF has attended the event, which attracted over 680 exhibitors and 17,000 visitors from as many as 31 countries. Indeed, the organisers report that the show was 20% bigger than the 2010 event, which also saw the opening of a new hall in the Kielce show ground, seeing exhibitors from as far-afield as China, Taiwan, Saudi Arabia, the USA and Italy.
The BPF was show casing our European Research and Development projects, which can be viewed here . This is an important step in disseminating the results of the projects, which will ultimately benefit the European Plastics Industry. Whilst our stand also featured an interactive presentation on the R&D projects, the BPF was also promoting our membership base through various routes, including our Buyers Guides, of which many were given out during the event, both in hard copy and on CD.
Whilst there wasn't an official "British Group" attending the PlastPol exhibition, a number of British Companies did however attend the show:
and others UK exhibitors with their local agent:
CR Clarke
All of these companies were listed in the British Guide, which were handed out at the show.
Poland has reported a GDP growth of 1.1% in 2009, which in the current economic climate is very impressive. Since joining the EU in 2004, the country has had a strong demand for polymers in all sectors, particularly in packaging, appliances, consumer electronics and automotive. The Polish plastics industry is now the largest in the Central European region in terms of both production and consumption levels.
The next edition of the show will take place at the same location (Targi Kielce fair ground) between 29 May - 1 June, 2012
