BPF Highlights So Far in 2024
This year has been busy for the British Plastics Federation and our Members, with over 50 new companies joining the BPF in 2024 putting the BPF's membership total at over 600 Members!

The BPF are proud of our achievements across 2024 and believe the growing membership shows how proud our Members are to be part of such a strong and united industry voice. So, why are more and more companies choosing to join us every year? Here's a quick snapshot of what we have been up to this year...
Stronger Together: Over 50 companies (including 17 Universities) have joined the BPF in 2024 - almost one new member per week - putting the BPF's membership total at over 600 Members! The Federation has been growing year on year since it was first established in 1933.
Exhibitions: The BPF proudly represented all 600 of its members at twelve UK exhibitions this year, and also promoted our Members at the largest plastics exhibition in the world - Chinaplas - held in Shanghai in April. During these UK and foreign events, over 5,000 copies of the BPF Members Directory were handed out, ensuring our Members are as visible as possible to the wider plastics industry.
CCA Scheme: We are also pleased to announce that the Climate Chance Agreement (CCA) scheme has recently been extended up to 2030, allowing continued Climate Change Levy relief on energy bills until March 2033! BPF Members receive a discount on CCA fees, which allows up to a 92% discount on the Climate Change Levy charge reflected on your energy bill - saving our over 500 facilities which are part of the CCA scheme incredible amounts of money.
Meetings & Publications: In 2024, over 40 BPF Group meetings and committee meetings took place, allowing Members to hear crucial updates and network/discuss issues with peers. As an outcome of our frequent communications with Members, and thus knowing the issues most important to them, a number of new publications and reports have been produced and made available to BPF Members, including the new BPF Recycling Roadmap and the BPF Productivity Guides.
Sales Leads: Over 650 sales leads sent to members so far this year! Including companies looking to source finished products, equipment, services and materials (including virgin polymer, recycled material and additives)
Events: When talking about BPF Events, our Annual Dinner has to come first... sold-out months in advance again this year and attracting over 500 valued Members into one room. We are thrilled to be taking our most prestigious event to a new (bigger) venue next year, promising the event can only get better (if that's possible)!
Also this year, the BPF held our first ever 'Meetings Day' in June, hosting six BPF Group meetings followed by a joint plenary session. This event is now firmly established in the BPF calendar of events, and in 2025 will take place on the 1st July bringing together eight BPF Groups for in-person group meetings and a joint afternoon session - making it one of the largest cross BPF Group events of the year.
The incredible BPF Events Team have been busy running twelve seminars this year and over thirty webinars, which attracted over two thousand delegates (!) in total. But they didn't stop there... the BPF also partnered in running the Global Research and Innovation in Plastics Sustainability Conference 2024 (GRIPS) , attracting over 600 registrations.
And other events took place throughout the year lead by group executives themselves, such as the LEGO production tour in Denmark, which the BPF Moulders and Specialist Processors Group found to be a huge sucess and an interesting experience.
Social Media: The BPF has been using its digital voice as always this year, as we continue to emphasise the value that the industry provides. From writing articles on top new innovations in the industry, to highlighting facts about the history and benefits of plastics, and even bringing advice around recycling plastic… the positive engagement we get on social media is hugely important to us in shining a light on the positive side of the plastics industry. We currently have 29,000+ followers across our corporate LinkedIn and Twitter accounts (16,500 LinkedIn, and 12,600 Twitter respectively).
Despite the year rolling to an end, the BPF Events Team never rest! So there are still a number of seminars and webinars taking place this autumn and winter, especially organised around the topics most important to you. We'll email you with any relevant events according to your interests and business area, so keep an eye on BPF emails to avoid missing out. Not recieving our emails?
