BPF Host Visit from Governor of West Virginia

On the 18 October the British Plastics Federation met with Earl Ray Tomblin, the Governor of West Virginia, and his team of high ranking advisors to discuss potential future relations between the BPF, its members and the State of West Virginia.

The Governor and his team are currently touring the UK on a ‘jobs investment mission’ which has included talks with BPF members.  West Virginia has a rich history in plastics and is home to a large number of chemical and polymer companies such as Dupont, Dow, Braskem, Lucite International and Chemtura.

Philip Law, Director-General of the British Plastics Federation stated:

“It was very useful to have an in-depth discussion with the Governor and his team given the growing concentration of plastics manufacturing in West Virginia, which includes investments by some BPF members. We derived valuable insights in the growing role of wet shale gas as a feedstock for polymers and the meeting has provided us and our members with a great point of access into the US market.”
