BPF launches guide to window and doorset CE Marking

The BPF Windows Group, in collaboration with the British Board of Agrément (BBA) and the British Standards Institution (BSI), has launched the new document ‘CE Marking: Guide for Window and Doorset Fabricators’. The guide will serve as an interpretation of what information should accompany CE Marking in the UK.

The Construction Products Directive 89/106/EEC will cease as of 1st July 2013 and will become the Construction Products Regulations. It will therefore become an EU Regulation and will become a Legal Requirement in UK and all of EU on 1st July 2013. This will essentially mean that any products manufactured for the construction industry will require a CE Mark.

BPF Windows Group Chairman, Martin Althorpe, said “It is essential that fabricators and installers start work on this now and understand that if they bring together frames and IGUs, they are effectively the product manufacturer and will have the responsibility for compliance”.
