BPF Launches InfoZone at Interplas
Wednesday, 20 September 2017
The BPF has been working on a variety of different material to educate all stakeholders on the environmental benefits of plastic packaging and the facts on plastic in the ocean. These materials will be launched to the industry at Interplas (26-28 September) - we hope to see you on stand C89 to pick up your free posters.
You will be able to access InfoZone here: www.polymerzone.co.uk from 26 September 2017.
This portal will help direct stakeholders to public facing information on plastic packaging and the environment.
See below for the materials this means you will soon have access to.

Sustainability
Poster: Why is plastics the sustainable choice?
This poster provides a quick summary of how plastic packaging provides environmental benefits from farm to plate. It’s full of quick useful soundbites and is supported by a longer, more detailed document of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs), which will be available from: www.polymerzone.co.uk
Plastic Packaging: Frequently Asked Questions
The poster is supported by a booklet of Frequently Asked Questions – for those who want further details. The FAQs will be publicly available here: www.polymerzone.co.uk
While the poster is aimed at staff, the FAQs are aimed at a much broader audience and should be used widely. If you have any further FAQs you would like to see added – please send them to [email protected]
Plastic in the ocean
Poster: How can we stop plastic entering the ocean?
The debate and potential solutions on plastic in the ocean is often being led by people outside the industry, who sometimes have incomplete or inaccurate facts. This can lead to calls for solutions that don’t target the root cause of the problem. This poster is aimed at giving the plastics industry quick facts on this topical issue. For those who would like to know more, the poster is supported by the new website: Marine Litter: The Facts.
Marine Litter: The Facts
This website has been developed to provide accurate information from reputable sources. It covers actions currently being taken by the BPF and links to work being done by other stakeholders to encourage sensible solutions that recognise the value of plastic in our economy. BPF members can preview the site using the password here.
Interplas Launch
We’ll be launching these to the industry at Interplas 26-28 September on stand C89 – so please do come and say ‘hi’ and collect your free posters.
You can also request a poster here.
Public launch – we need your help
The industry launch at Interplas will be followed by a public launch, where the FAQs and Marine Litter: The Facts are promoted to an external stakeholder audience.
Please help us be registering to support us on social media. We're launching a Thunderclap – a mass scheduled social media posting. When you register, you're scheduling the post to go live at the same time as everyone else, which helps promote the campaign. The post will take place on 11 October 2017.
