David Viehoff, Managing Director of Ultrapolymers Ltd., has been elected as Chairman of the BPF Distributors and Compounders Group taking over from Mike Boswell of Plastribution Ltd who steps down in order to focus on his new role as President of the British Plastics Federation.
The BPF’s Polymer Distributors & Compounders Group now comprises some eighteen member firms and has taken a particular interest in education, helping to fund the Polymer Study Tours organised by the Worshipful Company of Horners. It has also taken the lead in managing the credit risks of its members and in developing health & safety practices in the sector.
Upon relinquishing his duties as Chairman, Mike said, “Following my appointment as President of the BPF in June this year, the time has come for me to hand-over the responsibility of chairing the Distributors and Compounders Group. I am delighted that David Viehoff of Ultrapolymers will be my successor, he has a wealth of experience in the polymer distribution sector and will lead this important group with diligence and vigour.”
Boswell added, “I am looking forward to continuing to be an active participant of the group ensuring that the interests of Plastribution continue to be represented and that the group itself continues to be the voice of this vital sector of the UK plastics industry”.
David is keen to build on the strong foundation set in place during Mike’s chairmanship, adding, “I wish Mike every success in his new role as President of the BPF. He leaves the Distributors and Compounders Group in great shape. With the support of our growing membership I will endevour to continue the positive evolution of the Group and the plastics industry we support.”
