BPF Provides Technology Snapshot
Tuesday, 27 March 2012
In a seminar designed specifically to help plastics processors upgrade their capacity and competence, the BPF is staging a seminar, 'Technology for Plastics Processors' to be held at its London offices on April 25th, 2012.
The seminar will provide a snapshot of the key machinery and equipment developments as a guide to what's available and how to source it.
Exeter University's Paul Brookbank kicks off with a review of current trends in plastics processing technology and is followed up by expert speakers penetrating specific topics. Companies looking to maximise energy savings will be guided by Fred Pratt of CCS Technology who will examine the scope for retrofitting machines. Automation will be addressed by Mike Wilson of the British Automation and Robot Association and Peter Barnes of the Gauge and Tool Makers Association will examine the availability of UK tooling.
John Heaton of the R & D Factory will explore the water foaming of polymers and show how it can produce all round efficiencies, reducing both energy and cycle times. Sam Hill of Summit Systems will address best practice for material handling. Seminar sponsor Autodesk will demonstrate how digital simulation can reduce both time to market and production costs.
The seminar will be of major interest, as a one-stop-shop, to all companies who are contemplating investments of any scale including incremental upgrades of their equipment.
