BPF Recruit UK Companies for British Pavilion at Asia’s Largest Plastics Exhibition
Thursday, 24 September 2009
The British Plastics Federation (BPF) is recruiting UK companies to join the British Pavilion at the forthcoming Chinaplas exhibition in Shanghai on 19th April 2010. The exhibition attracted nearly 70,000 visitors and 1,840 exhibitors from 35 countries last year and is the largest plastics show in Asia.
The BPF has secured a prime location for the British Pavillion, next to the Main Entrance to Hall W1, a position that is guaranteed to benefit from excellent footfall and provide maximum exposure to British exhibitors. Furthermore, exhibitors will be able to take advantage of the BPF’s experience and contacts in the market, in addition to promotion at and prior to the exhibition.
BPF, Business Development Manager, Stephen Hunt (pictured) says:
‘The BPF has been taking British Groups to China since 1976 and has developed close ties with our counterpart in China the CPPIA, with whom we signed a Memorandum of Mutual Understanding in 2006. This provides our members with the unrivalled access to the Chinese market and the opportunity to form business links with the 44,000 members of the CPPIA'.
China is one of the World’s largest plastic manufacturers with over 37 million tonnes of output worth £84 billion. There are huge opportunities for UK companies in this market as China imports more that 17 million tonnes of plastics material per annum and still requires high-tech equipment and machinery.
Rapra Limited’s Ivy Lue, who exhibited on the British Pavillion last year says:
‘We see Chinaplas as a great opportunity to promote ourselves, so far we know a lot of the Chinese companies are interested not only in our technical and information services, but also because they want to expand into new markets in Europe and America’.
There are limited places on the Pavillion and space is filling up fast, consequently companies wishing to join the Pavilion are advised to sign up as soon as possible.
