Thursday, 7 January 2010
On Wednesday 24th February 2010, the British Plastics Federation will be holding a seminar entitled Health and Safety – Managing Occupational Road Risk. This training seminar has been developed by the BPF Health and Safety Committee whose members have identified occupational road risks as area of key concern for the plastics industry.
BPF Executive to the Health and Safety Committee, Dhrupal Joshi says:
‘Every year, a significant number of people are killed or injured in accidents involving vehicles in the workplace, but most of these accidents could be avoided through better planning, training and awareness, and the appropriate use of vehicles. This BPF seminar is designed to provide delegates with practical steps and guidance on best practice so that they may improve their company's workplace transport H&S record and eliminate needless accidents involving vehicles’
This event will also provide delegates with the opportunity to learn about employers’ and duty holders’ legal obligations relating to driver training and the maintenance, repair and inspection of vehicles.
Key topics covered will include:
• Assessing transport risks
• Driver Distractions
• Best Practice
