Each section is designed to address the full spectrum of activities at a standard plastics processing facility. Discover how you can kickstart transformation within your operations with:

  • Management: The essential actions required to set up an effective energy management programme. This will assist companies to achieve energy use reductions required by the BPF Energy CCA Agreement.
  • Monitoring and targeting: The essential actions needed to set up an effective monitoring and targeting programme for plastics processors.
  • Services: The essential actions needed to control and reduce energy use in services, e.g. motor management, compressed air, cooling and chilled water.
  • Plastics processing: The essential actions needed to control and reduce energy use in the actual processing of the plastic material.
  • Operations: The essential actions needed to improve operations in plastics processing. Simple changes in operations can have a dramatic effect on energy use.
  • Buildings and offices: The essential actions to control and reduce energy use in buildings. This covers lighting and office equipment as well as gas use for heating and hot water.
  • Site surveys: A site survey is where all the other sections of this workbook come together. A site survey is a necessary to locate profitable projects for energy use reduction.
  • Carbon footprinting: The drive to net zero requires reduced carbon emissions and an essential first step is understanding the current emissions.
