Horners` Award For Plastics 2009 Open For Entries

The Horners` Award for Plastics,2009, is now open for competitors. The deadline for entries to reach the British Plastics Federation’s offices is July 31st.

This prestigious Award, the oldest and most prestigious in the global industry, is open to innovative products or processes with a proven track record of commercial success.  It is jointly organised by the Worshipful Company of Horners, a City Livery Company , and the British Plastics Federation. Last year’s winner was the acclaimed ‘Durakerb’.

The intention of the Award is to stimulate innovation and hence the competitiveness of  the UK plastics industry.  Several iconic products have won the Award in its history, which now extends over 50 years.

There are major commercial benefits for the winner. The prize is traditionally presented at the Horners` Banquet at the Mansion House in the City of London by the Lord Mayor of London and attracts considerable publicity.  Companies are able to use the fact that they are an Award Winner in their sales and marketing effort and on their websites. The runner-up receives a Certificate of Special Commendation awarded by the British Plastics Federation and this is presented at the Federation’s Annual Dinner.
