In this session our chairperson Phil Maddox will welcome attendees and provide an insight into developments in rotational moulding. 

This presentation will explore SMART and AUTOMATISM: the speaker will describe the new results obtained with Persico's SMART machine and its evolution to a 100% automatic process. 

Last year Martin Coles hosted a webinar on behalf of the BPF, discussing the issues surrounding the shortages of Rotomoulding Polyethylene in Europe and this was followed up with a Matrix podcast.

Following on from Covid the world faces further unprecedented “black swan” event with Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. This presentation gives an update on what is happening now and what changes we might see in the future.

In this session Dr Peter Martin, Director of the Polymer Processing Research Centre, from QUB will look at a number of ongoing rotomoulding research and development projects currently underway at QUB. Innovations in new rotomoulding machinery, rotomoulding control, simulation, process optimisation, composites and robotics will be presented with a view to detailing their potential impact on future rotomoulding technology, production and market. 

In this session Martin Spencer will explain the new rotational moulding problem solving app created by ARMO - the global grouping of rotational moulding affiliates. 

Dr Robin Kent is an energy expert with many years experience in the industry. He will showcase how rotational moulding companies can save energy and money at every stage of the process. 

Dr Henwood will present on a new R&D project entitled “Development of a New Family of Rotomolding Materials”.  It will be fundamental research to demonstrate the feasibility of a range of new materials, based on a polystyrene (PS) matrix and he will present about this at the event.
