The Department of Materials is committed to providing an academically stimulating and supportive environment for both our teaching and research. We are home to over 300 undergraduate, postgraduate and research students and we offer a wide range of accredited degree programmes. For companies we offer a range of part-time postgraduate qualifications and short courses, details of which are available on our website. We also offer companies excellent opportunities to engage with our talented students via industrial placements and sponsored projects, which has benefitted many companies trying to recruit highly sought after Materials students. Finally our Loughborough Materials Characterisation Centre, LMCC, is a world class resource used by academia and industry and has a full team of consultants with a track record of finding solutions to Materials problems.
