Quality Plated Plastics grows its moulding facility with Negri Bossi 5et as part of a £6M investment

Birmingham based chroming company Quality Plated Plastics has extended its moulding facility as part of a £6M investment.

Originally founded in 1965, QPP is a leading electroplater and painter of plastic parts serving predominantly the automotive, sanitaryware and domestic appliance industries. In recent years it has extended its moulding to include two-shot and gas injection with machines up to 1100 ton from its two facilities.

2024 was a big year for the company with the installation of a new chroming line and an extension of one of the moulding facilities.

In the process QPP bought several new moulding machines including their first venture into the field of all-electric moulding machines, a Negri Bossi 5et.

Speaking about the purchase decision Chris Mahoney (Operations Director) said:

“On analysis it was felt that the absolute accuracy of a modern electric combined with its cleanness and energy efficiency was a winning combination for the company’s line of work”.

He went on “we have to say we have been very impressed with the performance given that it has been even beyond our expectations”.
