Xtrutech, a world leader in twin-screw extrusion, had the pleasure of welcoming Stoke-on-Trent Central MP Gareth Snell to take an exclusive tour of its Stoke-on-Trent Head Office and Innovation Centre.
At the end of February, Managing Director Ryan Moore and Financial Director Adam Alcock greeted Gareth to showcase the work Xtrutech are doing to drive innovations in extrusion for sustainable plastics.
Championing Innovation in Extrusion
Gareth was given a behind-the-scenes tour of the Xtrutech Innovation Centre and spoke to system integration and test engineer Dan Chetwyn to discuss how Xtrutech extrusion equipment is prepared for export around the globe.
He was shown results from recent trials to highlight how Xtrutech are leading on next-generation extrusion techniques which are driving the future developments in the most innovative companies in powder coating, biopolymers, and food extrusion.
Xtrutech recently launched the XTS19-XP High Powered Laboratory Twin Screw Extruder which is housed in the Innovation Centre. The XTS19-XP is engineered to meet the most demanding requirements in biopolymers, plastics, and food extrusion processes where increased power is critical for superior results.
Strengthening Industry and Regional Growth
The visit also provided a platform to discuss the future of UK manufacturing. Gareth engaged in a wide-ranging discussion with Xtrutech’s leadership team about the challenges and opportunities facing local manufacturers. The conversation reinforced the critical role of innovation in driving global competitiveness and supporting economic resilience.
“We were proud to welcome Gareth to Xtrutech,” said Ryan Moore, Managing Director. “His understanding of engineering and dedication to supporting local businesses is invaluable. We look forward to working closely with him and the Government to find opportunities to better support innovative companies like ours to thrive”.
