WER ‘U’ ready? VEKA fabricators are!

Users of the VEKA PVC-U frame system are able to calculate the energy rating of thousands of window and glazing combinations, thanks to the supplier’s unique Window Energy Ratings Calculator, thought to be the only one of its kind in the industry.

Fabricators of the acclaimed Matrix 70 system can produce a casement window with a ‘U’ value as low as 0.8 – or U 0.9 for a fully-reinforced and/or foiled frame. The calculator can be used as a ‘U’ Value certificate and can also identify appropriate glazing units for ‘A’ ‘B’ or ‘C’ Rated windows as well as giving an immediate readout of the predicted WER of every possible frame design.

The versatile tool has also been updated to include all the latest energy efficiency legislation.
VEKA Sales and Marketing Director Colin Torley said: “There are at least 16,000 window and glazing combinations possible with VEKA profiles but such versatility means the calculator must be equally versatile. Our technical team have not only achieved that but also made it simple to operate. We know from our original calculator that our customers appreciate that.

VEKA is an accredited BFRC simulator and offers a one-stop service for fabricators looking to gain WER ratings, including full simulation reports for submission to the BFRC. The company also provides help and guidance in setting up the necessary quality systems that are essential for any fabricator wanting to register windows.
