Plastindia 2026 BPF post show report

Plast India 2026 is the largest plastics exhibition held in India and one of the largest in the world.

This year, it was the eleventh edition of the exhibition, held between the 5th and the 10th of February in a newly renovated exhibition centre called Bharat Mandapam (used to be called Pragati Maidan). The event is held every three years.

The exhibition covered a net area of 75,000 square meters, compared to 50,000 square meters in 2023. There were over 2,000 exhibitors from 80 countries (up from 1,400 exhibitors representing 30 countries in 2023). The show occupied 12 halls, primarily dedicated to machinery manufacturers, alongside companies specializing in raw materials, semi-finished and finished products, and related services.

Visitor attendance was estimated at 600,000, a significant increase from the 250,000 recorded in 2023.

The event featured country pavilions from Austria, China, France, Germany, Italy, Taiwan and the United Kingdom.

The British Pavilion

British Plastics Federation (BPF) coordinated the British Pavilion of exhibitors, which featured eight UK companies promoting their products and services. They were:

The British exhibitors reported a very good number of quality enquiries. One of the exhibitors sold a machine during the event, which was a result of previous conversations, but finalised at the show. Participating at the event in person proved crucial for showing commitment to the market and securing the sale.

Another UK exhibitor, a BPF member, B&M Longworth who was a first time exhibitor at PlastIndia secured some business with another British exhibitor from the Pavilion. The company needed a few of their parts cleaned and B&M Longworth apart from the equipment sale, also offers services of components cleaning.

"We have a distributer in India, who we have worked with for over twenty years. Supporting them by having a presence at the exhibition, as part of the GB organised pavilion alongside other UK manufacturers, continues our commitment to the communication with our customers in India.
Being a specialist in testing flexible plastics, we supply testing instruments to our customers to strengthen their material testing capabilities".
Phil Neal, Managing Director, RDM Test Equipment Ltd.

The Indian plastics market

According to Ravish Kamath, President of Plastindia Foundation, the Indian plastic industry is valued at around USD 47-50 bn. "With India's GDP expected to grow at 11 -12% and the plastics industry advancing at an even faster pace of 13-14%, this momentum is both, significant and inspiring" as quoted by Mr.Kamath.

The next edition of PLASTINDIA is scheduled to return to New Delhi in February 2028. Beginning with that edition, the event will shift from a triennial to a biennial schedule. Please contact Justyna Elliott at the BPF to book a cost effective package stand within the British Pavilion.
